Conditions of sales for birds

1. All birds sold from this facility come with a 3-day period of guarantee as to the health status and acceptability for the buyer. The 3-day period excludes Sundays and legal holidays. Old World Aviaries will be willing within certain constraints to help with the cost of treatment, will replace the bird, or will refund the purchase price of the bird and shipping costs if it is proven to not be healthy following sale. Due to the innate variability of the birds themselves and conditions beyond our control, we cannot guarantee the birds beyond this 3-day period unless extenuating circumstances apply and have been discussed prior to the expiration of this time period.

2. The health status of your bird must be confirmed by having your bird examined by a qualified veterinarian within 3 days of receiving the bird. Old World Aviaries will honor any problems found at the examination or as a result of tests performed at the examination. For example, if you have tests performed that take additional time for evaluation, Old World Aviaries will honor problems that are found as a result of those tests.

3. We do not consider a a slight growth of gram-negative bacteria post-shipping to be disease but recognize that this is a stress-related reaction to being shipped.

4. Our goal is to provide our customers with healthy and satisfactory pet or breeding birds. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions regarding care, husbandry, or behavior. If we are not able to fully help, we will be happy to recommend qualified veterinarians who can provide post purchase examinations or professional care should you need it.
